Beyond the Promise
About QLI
36 years ago, QLI made a promise — individuals with brain and spinal cord injuries along with neurological conditions would not only receive exceptional care, they would live full and meaningful lives marked by dignity, meaning, purpose, and hope. Today QLI is a national center of excellence and a source of pride for Nebraska and we have consistently delivered on that promise for almost four decades.
We are proud to announce Beyond the Promise, QLI’s $22 million capital campaign to expand what is possible, allowing us to create new opportunities for the people we serve, their families, and our community.
Beyond the Promise will be honored through the development of two extraordinary projects; Ronda Sokol Family Housing at QLI and Hoogeveen Collective at QLI. We are creating spaces that will solidify our mission, enhance the experiences of those we serve, and allow QLI to make an even greater impact for generations to come.
Groundbreaking is planned for March 2027, with completion anticipated in summer 2028, marking a major step forward in bringing Beyond the Promise to life.

HOOGEVEEN COLLECTIVE AT QLI
The Hoogeveen Collective at QLI will transform a vacant school adjacent to QLI’s Rehabilitation Campus into a 24,000-square-foot hub for connection, wellness, and community. Designed to serve clients, families, alumni, team members, and partners, the space will unite three essential pillars of the QLI experience: nutrition, adaptive fitness, and gathering spaces. A full-service kitchen will prepare up to 250 meals each day, while expanded adaptive fitness areas will allow programs such as GRITFit, adaptive yoga, and wheelchair sports. The Hoogeveen Collective at QLI will create a place where relationships continue long after rehabilitation.

RONDA SOKOL FAMILY HOUSING AT QLI
The Ronda Sokol Family Housing at QLI will expand QLI’s family housing with new apartments, hotel-style rooms, and shared living spaces designed for comfort, connection, and support. The project will ensure more families can stay close to their loved ones throughout rehabilitation, regardless of how far they travel to be here.

BE PART OF THE PROMISE
At QLI, we’ve always believed rehabilitation is about more than recovery. It’s about rebuilding independence, restoring autonomy, and expanding what’s possible. Every year, our clients and their families travel from across the country to Omaha to begin that work. Our responsibility is to ensure the spaces around them are ready to support their journey. Beyond the Promise is how we meet that responsibility today. Through this campaign, we are expanding the environments that bring people together, support families staying close, and creates a space for hope to live.
